Want to up your game when it comes to standing out in auditions that incorporate movement?

Kayla Janssen returns to Garry Marshall Theatre with the next installment of Movement For Screen. This fall, spend eight Thursdays with choreographer Kayla Janssen. Each 2-hour session will empower performers who have a range of dance training from minimal (or even no dance training) to years of technique, who want be in the mix for auditions that involve movement and dance elements, and how to handle on-set movement language.

Designed for actors, dancers, and those who want to find added comfortability both in auditions and while on set when on-screen casting/production requires movement.

This 8-session fall program for adults will teach performers some dance basics that work for in-person and on-camera auditions. And yes, we will also build and explore achievable choreography each session.

  • Each week will build upon the previous, and will include a warm-up, foundation drills, individual movement explorations, and adding onto choreography that will be executed in its full expression in the final video filming.

  • October 24, will be a filming session, on location at GMT.

  • Once edited, the actors will receive the final video for their casting pages and other social media pages.

An in person waiver is required and will be provided at Garry Marshall Theatre, and will be signed by each participant acknowledging that this will culminate in a filming to be shared by others within the class.
