Up your Sondheim game! Explore the intricacies and musical themes from signature works of acclaimed and beloved musical theatre composer Stephen Sondheim.

Teens will examine the songs of Sondheim through the lens of storytelling, communicating through stillness, and building characters that go beyond the lyrical starting point. Participants will work through two individual selections*, and collaborate on a famous Sondheim group number. Through solo and group vocal activities, teens will unpack musical story beats, emotional arcs and character point of view.

This four-day intensive will culminate in a presentation, including a look into the process of musical theatre character building from some of the most iconic Broadway songs of the last 50 years. 

*participants solo selections should be submitted for approval by GMT Education by Monday, November 3
