Elizabethan era garments or “Shakespeare Threads” are a mainstay in theater and film! Explores historical costume construction to create a historical doublet or bodice similar to those worn in Shakespeare inspired musicals & Juliet and Six. This 5-session Teen Tech series teaches each step in the costume construction process for a historical custom built garment. Participants (ages 12-17)will be guided through flat patterning using body blocks, historical fabrics, cutting and sewing techniques both machine and hand, and finishing details including grommets and steel boning. Design, construct, and take home your very own garment that the “Bard” himself would envy!
