Catch a quick glimpse into the power of the GMT Youth Education experience!
GMT’s summer camp curriculum is built on exploration and the freedom to be messy and try new things. Camp is fun! We will focus learning collaboration essentials within an ensemble, growing performance skills and making clear and bold choices.
Summer 2026 offers freestanding weekly summer camp sessions:

Each Session offers insight and allows for growth in arts exploration. For the fullest experience, a multi-week camp adventure will offer young artists the most practice in the full arc of live performance and musical theatre.
Session 1 - June 22-26: REHEARSAL CULMINATION
The Wizard of Oz Performance Camp
(April, May, June Sunday rehearsals leading up to 1- week youth production summer camp)
June 9-13, M-F, 9am-3pm
Extended Hour 3-4pm
This camp is the culminating rehearsal period of “The Wizard of Oz” Summer production, including rehearsals starting in April. This week of camp is not available as a stand-alone week of camp.

Wizard of Oz Teen Tech Summer Camp

Step behind the curtain of Oz and discover how theater magic really happens!
In this two-week Teen Tech Summer Camp, participants will explore the essential elements alongside industry professionals in technical theater while preparing for a full-scale production of The Wizard of Oz. During the first week, participants will get hands-on experience in lighting, scenery, costumes, and sound—learning how each area helps bring a story to life on stage. Through creative projects and teamwork, teens will gain practical skills in design, backstage communication, and problem-solving while helping build the world of Oz.
In the second week, participants become the backstage crew for the live performances of The Wizard of Oz. From running lights and sound cues to managing scene changes and assisting with costumes, participants will take part in real technical rehearsals and experience the excitement of live theater in action. Teen Tech Camp offers a unique opportunity to learn the craft of theater production, develop leadership and collaboration skills, and see hard work shine on the yellow brick road!

Session 3 - June 29-July 3rd: FREESTANDING WEEK
Physical Comedy Summer Camp

Who doesn’t love to laugh? Physical Comedy and Clowning gives campers ages 8-11 and 12-17 the opportunity to expand their physical vocabulary, comedic timing and storytelling ability. This camp will be led by professionals from the world of circus, clowning and non-verbal storytelling.
Slapstick humor, clown routines, and improvisation will help young artists discover the power of exaggeration and how to connect with an audience. Trips & slips, spit-takes, character walks, prop comedy, face work, comic skits, bold entrances, pie in the face and sight gags are sure to abound. What can we say… this is going to be FUN!

Session 4 - July 13-17: FREESTANDING WEEK
Stage Combat Summer Camp
Youth: 8-11

From drama to duels—create action that tells a story! In this high-energy week long camp, participants will explore the thrilling world of stage combat choreography used in theater. Guided by professional stage combat instructors, campers will learn the fundamentals of unarmed combat—like punches, slaps, falls, and dramatic reactions—along with basic swordplay, partner work, and stage movement. Through fun, hands-on exercises, participants see how actors create the illusion of real fights while keeping everyone safe and in control.
Each day combines physical training, teamwork, and storytelling as campers learn how movement and emotion bring action scenes to life on stage. Participants will build confidence, coordination, and focus while creating exciting fight sequences that connect to character and plot. By the end of camp, students will combine all of their new skills in a choreographed fight performance that proves stage combat is as much about acting and trust as it is about action and adventure!

Session 5 - July 20-24 & 27-31: TWO WEEKS PLUS CULMINATION PERFORMANCES
Musical Theatre Revue Summer Camp

This year we will be building an entirely new powerhouse Musical Theatre Revue. The 2025 musical theatre revue will feature show stopping numbers and the opportunity for solos! This 2-week camp is an acting, singing, dancing event that culminates in two performances.
Special guests who are known in the American Musical Theatre arena will be making appearances. Camp days will be concentrated on vocalization, singing in harmony, performing dialogue, choreography and on-stage performance for a culmination presentation with elements of costume, props and scenic features developed by participants in the TEEN TECH Summer Camp.

Session 6 - August 3-7: FREESTANDING WEEK
Jr and Teen Tech Puppet Making Summer Camp

TEEN TECH: PUPPET MAKING is a 1-week, hands-on immersive experience for teens 12-17 to dive into the art of the puppet making process. Participants learn to design, sculpt, and engineer their own unique puppets to life!
We will start by considering the character, choosing materials, and exploring fundamental puppet-building and operating techniques. Then, get ready to have fun with non-traditional materials: googly eyes, foam, fabric, appliqué from pipe cleaners to faux fur, and more! By the end of the week, participants will be practicing puppet manipulation, inventing character mannerisms, and collaborating to create puppet theatre with professional puppeteers. AND...new puppets will be taken home after our final day to continue storytelling.
