  • 12:30-3:30pm

Go behind the scenes to paint the scenery! These five Saturdays in Teen Tech: Scenic Painting will be focused on the time-honored tradition of transforming basic scenic elements into vibrant stage environments through hands-on scenic painting projects.

Teens ages 12-17 will explore:

  • Color Theory and Mixing

  • Stains, Glaze, and Finishes

  • Depth, Dimension, and Texture

  • Brush, Roller and Sponge Technique

And yes, we will be working to uncover potential in design, and creative problem-solving while collaborating on a shared scenic piece that brings a clear vision to the stage picture.

Taught by professionals in the industry, participants will create a visual story through hands-on scenic instruction, tools of the trade and their own creativity. Gain practical experience in teamwork, design thinking, and creative expression—skills that inspire creativity both in the theatre and beyond. Painted scenery will be featured at the first ever GMT SPRING SING on MAY 2nd at 7pm and MAY 3rd at 4pm!

Please be sure to check your calendar before purchase as classes, youth productions and camps are nonrefundable.
